The Puppies by Elizabeth Hartman is a fun and characterful patchwork pattern featuring three adorable dog designs (Smokey, Toby and Lulu).
Each puppy is made using a combination of two main fabrics and simple detail fabrics for the eyes and noses, giving you lots of scope to use different fabrics and colours to give each pup its own personality.
The blocks are traditionally pieced using rotary-cut squares and rectangles, with no templates or paper piecing required. The pattern includes instructions for two quilt sizes and a 20" × 20" pillow, and can be made using fat quarters or 10" squares. There is also an optional glasses appliqué pattern if you want to give your puppies a little extra character.
